Cooking & Heating Instructions
Pasta
KEEP FROZEN. Bring 5 quarts of salted water to a rapid boil. Boil pasta straight from the freezer (DO NOT THAW) for 2-3 minutes (5-7 mins for Ravioli, Gnocchi, & Cavatelli) or until desired doneness is achieved. Tips: Stir pasta gently when you drop it in to break it up. It will cook fast. Do not overcook. Take out a piece after 2 minutes to test doneness. Pan fry cooked gnocchi in butter for added flavor and texture.
Lasagna
Preheat oven to 350ºF and place pan on a cookie sheet. If thawed - bake for 30 minutes uncovered or until warmed through. If frozen - bake covered for an hour, uncover and bake another 20-30 minutes or until warmed through. Tip: Broil (uncovered) at the end for 5 minutes to brown the top. Wait about 10 minutes after cooking before cutting/eating to let it cool down and set.
Meatballs
Ideally, you will heat up meatballs in sauce to retain moisture. If you have sauce, place frozen or thawed meatballs in sauce in a pan on the stove. Keep heat low until meatballs heat up - stirring often. If you are not using sauce, preheat oven to 300ºF. Place meatballs in an oven safe dish and cover with foil. If frozen, bake for 20-30 minutes or until warmed through. If thawed, bake for 10-20 minutes. These are already cooked so you just need to heat them up.
Pasta Sauce
Put the bag of sauce in hot water to thaw (takes about 5 minutes) or thaw overnight in the fridge. Open bag into a saucepan and heat up on the stove (medium-low) until desired temperature, stirring to avoid burning!
